Clamshell Coil Heater
"Electrode Processing Accelerator"
PROBLEM:   When processing a neon unit, you should always get both electrodes cherry red. Sometimes, one electrode will reach cherry red while you are struggling to get the other electrode cherry red. If the electrodes are not fully red end-to-end, the unconverted emission coating in the shell will form stains during the life of the tube... NOT GOOD!

SOLUTION:  When placed around the electrode that will not come up to a full cherry red the entire length, our Clamshell Coil Heater will quickly and easily bring up the temperature and cherry red in seconds... OH YEAH!
  • Our Clamshell Coil Heater, when paired with a "Bolt Buster" type inductive driver (sold separately on Amazon - see below) will be the neon shop accessory you never knew you needed!

  • Heats up the electrode metal shell, not by raw heat, but by the magic of "induction heating". Just like an induction cooktop, electromagnetic-induction is used to heat the metal pan that is placed on top of it.

  • This unique and simple-to-use clamshell design does not require the old two donut coils and no pre-positing over the tubulation.

  • Plenty of power:  in a typical situation while bombarding where one electrode is fully red and the second electrode is only "half hot", using the clamshell coil will raise a long shell 12mm or 13mm electrode that is 1/2 heated (half red) to full red in 5 to 10 seconds.

  • The inductive coil is also great to completely heat the electrodes when the electrodes are simply "too big" for the glass as can happen with 8mm tubing and short shell 12mm electrodes without excessive bombarding which could easily sag or collapse the small neon tube.

  • Approximately 9" long.

  • Designed and assembled in the USA!

Non-Contact
Bombarding Temperature Gauge
Our "Non-Contact" Bombarding Temperature Gauge provides real-time temperature monitoring of your neon tube during the bombarding process. Bringing up the temperature of each unit to a precise temperature is critical to burn off impurities and ensure a long lasting neon unit.

Our Non-Contact Bombarding Temperature Gauge is superior to the old "clamp-on" style because the clamp itself must heat up and cool down which creates a real-time temperature reading delay. Our Non-Contact style accurately and instantaneously reads the actual temperature.

A better Gauge at a better Price - a No-Brainer!

REVIEWS
This thermal scanner has been an exciting addition to my shop from the moment it arrived. The unit I was replacing was a 20 year old clamp-on type, and even though I also had an older optical type, I was never sure if it’s accuracy.

It was love at first sight!  I love the brightly colored housing and the addition of pre-drilled mounting holes is helpful. The thermal scanner has an internal battery eliminating one of the power cables off the pump table.  The one cable connecting the display to the sensor is sleeved with fiberglass so as not to burn.  It also has an illuminated readout, something that I always wished for. All of these touches make it an incomparable piece of equipment.

It took me a little time to adjust to the fast acting accuracy of this device, compared to my old clamp on gauge, but once I became familiar with it my processing is more efficient and I’m achieving better results!

Availability is major factor with neon accessories. I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the folks that took the time to design and make this device. Long live neon!

I was one of the earliest adopters of IR gauges for neon use.  I also manufactured some of the Transco IR gauges years ago.  Morgan has taken these gauges to the next level, and I am so excited to see the evolution of this valuable gauge for neon processing.  Long battery life!

This electrode heater is a great addition to my neon processing equipment. It’s very easy to use and works great for converting the electrode shell coating during processing. Sometimes I need to use electrodes that are oversized for the unit and I can't quite get them hot enough during bombarding and this handy little device helps finish the job. I love it! "
